SOLVES RACIAL PROBLEM

MEXICAN CHILDREN WILL BE ENROLLED IN OLD MAJOR HUDSON SCHOOL, SAY AUTHORITIES

The situation in the Major Hudson school district may yet be clarified.

Three Mexican children appeared at the old Major Hudson school, which the board proposed to keep exclusively for people of that race, and indicated that others would be present tomorrow. They are all below the fourth grade. One teacher at present is kept at the building.

This is the first time any Mexican children have come to the old building this year, although a teacher was kept there for several days to enroll any who might appear at the beginning of the school year. Then when four Mexican children tried to enroll in the new Major Hudson school last week, a miniature race riot broke out among the white patrons of the school, who objected to their attending at that place. The matter was temporarily cleared up when the school board assured the objectors that separate education facilities would be provided.
