The Kansas City, Kansas Public Schools (KCKPS) is an exceptional school system, which uses an array of innovative teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of our students. We also have a vigorous professional development program designed to support our teachers.

The Kansas City, Kansas Public Schools District (KCKPS) is best defined by our mission to “Inspire Excellence; every grownup, every child, every day.” This mission is the driving force in our daily efforts to engage our students in success. KCKPS welcomes our community of learners to 51 buildings city wide; 4 Early Childhood Centers, 30 elementary schools, 8 middle schools, 5 high schools, and 4 alternative schools. We embrace our diverse student population of approximately 23,795 students, bringing with them over 70 different home languages. Our diversity is our greatest strength and it vital that the workforce of KCKPS be as diverse as its student population. 

The Kansas City, Kansas Public Schools is a nationally recognized urban school district whose roots are rich in history and future is bright with promise.
