“Sesame Street in Communities works to address physical and emotional needs of students. This aligns with the priorities of our school district,” said KCKPS Director of Student Services Lisa Garcia-Stewart. “It is the goal of KCKPS and our partners to improve the educational and life outcomes of our students and their families.

SSIC is a resource to support healthy habits in young children, while also engaging the important adults in their lives. They believe that “1 in 4 children in the United States struggle with more than one traumatic event.” To combat these struggles, SSIC has created professional development resources for educators and community members. SSIC’s focus is on helping students have healthy bodies and minds, learning their ABC’s and 123’s, and working through difficult times and tough talks.
