KCKPS Partners with Local Rotary Club to Collect and Distribute Over 50,000 Books

The Kansas City, Kansas Public Schools (KCKPS) is partnering with local rotary clubs to collect and distribute books to KCKPS students for the summer.

Book collection and distribution is being facilitated at the Kansas City, Kansas Community College Technical Education Center, 6565 State Ave, Kansas City, Kan. Deliveries of books are going to each KCKPS school via delivery by the Unified Government of Kansas City, Kansas.

This collection of over 50,000 books, courtesy of Olathe Rotary Club, will reduce summer slide for KCKPS students. Summer slide is the slight regression of knowledge between the end of school and the beginning of the next school year. Students in early childhood centers and elementary schools will receive three books each. Students in middle school and high school will receive two books.
