Esperanca was all smiles as her Central Middle School peers looked on as she was presented with a certificate of appreciation by Commissioner Brian McKiernan and congratulated by Kansas City, Kansas Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Cynthia Lane and Nutritional Services Director Joshua Mathiasmeier.

Now, the newly decorated truck will make its official debut on Mon., June 5, the first day of the Summer Food Service Program in which about 4,000 youth, ages 1 to 18, will receive free meals this summer. The truck will be used to deliver the meals to 50 sites located around Wyandotte County.
