Stony Point North Elementary School — Uniform Policy

 

Tops

  • All shirts are to be solid white, navy blue, or black in color.
  • Tops must have sleeves ranging from short to full length.
  • Shirts are to be collared, polo, turtleneck in style, or dress shirt.
  • No lettering, pictures, logos, labels or designs are to be on the shirts, other than school logo.
  • White T-shirts may be worn only as undershirts, not as a uniform shirt.
  • SPN Spirit Shirts (school logo) may be worn on Fridays instead of a uniform top.

 

Sweatshirts, Vest, Sweaters

  • All sweatshirts, vests, and sweaters must be the same colors as the uniform: white, navy blue, or black.
  • NO HOODED SHIRTS, SWEATERS, SWEATSHIRTS, OR VESTS WILL BE WORN IN CLASSROOMS OR THE BUILDING.
  • A collared uniform shirt must be worn under the sweatshirt, vest or sweater.
  • These items are not to be worn around the waist or shoulders.

 

Pants, Shorts, Skirts, Skorts, or Jumpers

  • All pants worn will be solid Navy Blue, Black or Khaki (NO DENIM/BLUE JEANS, SWEAT PANTS, and SPORT PANTS OR CARGO PANTS WITH SIDE POCKETS WILL BE ALLOWED).
  • Styles must fit at the waist or a belt must be worn (NO SAGGING OR BAGGING OR HEMS DRAGGING ON THE GROUND). Skirts and jumpers will also be Navy Blue, Black, or Khaki.
  • Skirts and jumpers must be worn as close to the knee as possible.
  • Jeans are not to be worn as uniform pants.
  • Hems of shorts, Skorts and jumpers must be no shorter than mid-thigh (When the student is standing with his or her arms at the side).

 

Additional Uniform Requirements for all Students

  • No oversized clothing – All styles must fit the child.
  • No "headwear" is to be worn, unless approved for religious purposes.
  • Articles related to gangs or gang activities such as jewelry, emblems, symbols or other related items will be prohibited.
  • Jewelry should not be worn if it could be a safety issue during recess or P.E.
  • For student safety, no flip flops, open toe shoes or backless shoes are allowed. Lace-up (leather or tennis shoes), Velcro or slip-on shoes with socks are acceptable.
  • Students who are not in uniform will be sent to the office to change if clothing is available, or to call home for a change of clothing.
  • Official dress down days will be communicated to parents in writing. Unless notified by the school, all students are expected to wear uniforms every day.
