The Kansas City, Kansas Teaching Fellows program recruits and selects high-performing individuals from other careers to teach in high-needs schools in the Kansas City, Kansas Public School District. We have various teacher positions for the following areas such as: Science, Math, English (English Language Arts), Engineering, Technology and Information Systems, or Finance/Accounting. Other content areas may be determined prior to the beginning of each school year. Because of the number of our vacancies, as well as the current and impending teacher shortage throughout the nation, the district is re-igniting an alternative certification program known as the Kansas City, Kansas Teaching Fellows. Because of the number of our vacancies, as well as the current teacher shortage throughout the nation, KCKPS has re-ignited an alternative certification program known as the Kansas City Kansas Teaching Fellows.

This program offers two alternative pathways to the classroom:

1. The KCKPS Certificate

2. The Master’s of Art in Teaching.
