KCKPS Holds Annual Convocation

Posted Wednesday, August 8, 2018

The new school year is about to begin for Kansas City, Kansas Public Schools!

That means it’s time for the annual Convocation, a time for returning staff and those staff new to the district to come together to celebrate the start of the new school year.

This year’s event featured words of motivation and inspiration from the district’s newly named superintendent Dr. Charles Foust. He also thanked staff for all they are doing and will do for the students of the district. During his address, Dr. Foust told staff his license had been approved by the Kansas State Department of Education, which allows him to officially assume his duties as the superintendent of the district. This received applause from attendees.

Click the picture below for an excerpt from Dr. Foust’s speech that received a standing ovation from attendees of the event held at 9 a.m. on August 8 at Memorial Hall in Kansas City, Kansas.

Dr. Foust’s entire speech is now available on YouTube here.
