KCKPS Offers Significant Incentives for Teachers

Highlights of the approved 2019-20 Negotiated Agreement:
  • All returning teachers, with available step movement, will move up a step
  • A 1% increase to base
  • Added longevity pay/annual stipend for teachers who have been continuously employed for 10 years or more with KCKPS
  • Improvements to the salary schedule to make it more competitive for career teachers
  • Special Education teachers will receive a 2% stipend above the regular salary schedule

    • Notice of Special Board Meeting – July 22, 2019

      A special meeting of the Kansas City, Kansas Board of Education is hereby called for Monday, July 22, 2019, at 12:00 p.m., in the third floor Board room, KCKPS Central Office and Training Center, 2010 N. 59th Street, Kansas City, Kansas. In addition to regular business itemized in the published agenda, the purpose of such special meeting shall be to take action on the Human Resources Report and Recommendations and approve the publication of the Notice of Hearing for the 2019-2020 budget.     • Congratulations KCKPS Communications Team!

      The school district’s outstanding communications and marketing skills have been recognized for the first time by the National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA).  Honorable Mention recognitions were received in the following categories: For Distinguished Achievement in the Category of School District – Video (produced in-house) The award was for the “We Are KCKPS” recruitment video showcasing the school district’s outstanding qualities from the technology-integrated instruction in preschool through high school, the dedicated teachers, administrators and staff to the innovative Diploma+ initiative. For Distinguished Achievement in the Category of School District – Branding/Image Package for Diploma+ Branding.  The imaging for the program included a brochure, calendar, rack cards, T-shirts and other items showcasing the logos and items associated with the initiative. The official announcement of winners was made during the NSPRA Closing Banquet on Wednesday, July 17. Posted July 18, 2019

    • Dr. Foust Reads to Students at Oak Ridge Youth Development School’s Summer Enrichment Program

      Dr. Charles Foust read ‘Stand Tall, Molly Lou Melon’ to students at the Oak Ridge Youth Development School. The ORYDS invites leaders in the community to meet the students and read with them every day during their Summer Enrichment Program. Posted July 10, 2019
