Washington High School, 1978

When Keith Mark sets his mind on something, he gets it done. He admits to being a big dreamer, but he believes if you work hard, you can achieve anything.

Mark is an attorney and the founder of his own law firm, Mark & Burkhead. He specializes in labor law and works with a number of union groups. He is proud to represent the working class.

His parents often preached to him about the value of a good education. Because of that, Mark spent a lot of time studying while he was in high school; his goal was to be at the top of his class. And he was. He was valedictorian. His education, combined with a no-nonsense upbringing, prepared him for life.

“The fact that I’m a KCK kid – I wear that like a badge of honor,” he said.

After high school, Mark attended Kansas State University. He earned his undergraduate degree in marketing, and continued on to study law at Washburn Law School where he graduated magna cum laude.

Mark has always been an avid hunter. In an effort to share his love for the sport, he owns MacMillan River Adventures, an outdoor adventure business, and Bow & Arrow Productions, a company producing outdoor television programs. Today, he is the co-host of the Outdoor Channel television series, “MacMillan River Adventures” with professional wrestler Shawn Michaels.

He is passionate about helping children. In 1999, he and his wife built a Little League Royals baseball field on their land in Basehor, Kansas. Over the years, dozens of children have used the facility to play ball. He also serves on the Board of the Outdoor Adventure Foundation, an organization that grants wishes to young people with life-threatening illnesses.
