During the April 23, 2018 special Board of Education Meeting, there was a discussion of the survey results for the superintendent search. There were 576 responses to the District Review Survey and 839 responses to the 30 Qualities Survey.?? The online surveys were advertised by local media and shared on the district’s website and social media pages.
The board reviewed the Superintendent Search flier that will be published to inform candidates about the school district and application and selection process.
Before the flier can be released, the Board will have to approve the following changes to the job description for the Superintendent of Schools during their April 24 meeting:
- Change “Earned Doctorate required” to preferred
- Change “A minimum of three years as a teacher, building administrator and district-wide administrator” to Preferred experience as a teacher, building administrator and district-wide administrator.
Making these changes will widen the candidate pool according to the district’s Superintendent Search consultants, Ray and Associates, Inc. Once approved the Superintendent Search flier will be added to the district website.
The board is also expected to discuss the possibility of an interim at their May 8, 2018 Board of Education meeting during executive session.
