3.18.20: The KCKPS School Board voted to close KCK Libraries to prevent the spread of Covid-19. The safety of the public is the priority and the reopening of the library will be reviewed in the future.
Kansas Governor Laura Kelly issued an order to cease in-person instruction for the remainder of the school year. In the coming days, we will implement a plan for continuous learning through guidance from the Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE) to ensure learning continues during these challenging times. In addition to implementing the continuous learning plan, the district will also provide information about continuous availability of meals for our students.
At this time we are cancelling all sports teams practices during Spring Break. This includes practices on our campuses (fields, tracks, courts, grounds) and those at other recreational sites. The surrounding schools have also canceled their sports practices during Spring Break.
From KSHSAA: “…in response to Governor Kelly’s Executive Order regarding the closure and cessation of in-person instruction in all Kansas schools through May 29, 2020, the KSHSAA is cancelling all spring championships, competitions, and festivals for the remainder of this school year.” Read more about KSHSAA cancellation here.
