Schools and District Buildings Closed on Tuesday, February 16 , 2021 – Inclement Weather Plan E in Effect

This is a School Closing Update from KCKPS,

Due to record setting cold temperatures, local electricity providers have issued an emergency alert which comes with controlled interruptions of service in some areas to help prevent power outages.

Based on this additional information, we have decided to transition from Plan D to Plan E of the District’s Inclement Weather Plan for Tuesday, February 16, 2021.

Plan E means no remote work, teaching or learning. All Kansas City, Kansas Public School campuses, District Offices, and the KCK Public Library Branches are fully closed.

This also includes no bus transportation or curbside meal pick up or delivery service.

If you are an essential worker, you may be on call. So, please make sure to report to your immediate supervisor as soon as possible to seek guidance on when you report to work.

Thank you all for your patience during this winter weather warning and the sudden changes the extreme conditions have created for us all. We will continue to keep you all updated on the District’s website, social media platforms or Infinite Campus on future closings. You can also learn about school closings on the local news channels of your choice.

Remember, dangerously cold temperatures are expected to continue over the next couple of days so please remain sensitive to issues of safety.
