Did you know that the Kansas City-Atchison League will be welcoming to a new member in the Fall 2022 season?

It’s true! Topeka Highland Park High School is joining the league and because of this, it’s time to come up with a new league name. That’s where you come in: we want to hear your suggestions when it comes to renaming the Kansas City-Atchison League.

Please visit this link to make your suggestions.

History of the League

The Kansas City Atchison League (KCAL) was founded as the Kansas City Kansas League (KCKL) by six schools that wanted to compete outside of the EKL or Sunflower Leagues.

Those six schools were JC Harmon, FL Schlagle, Wyandotte, Washington, Bishop Ward and Sumner.

Currently, the league is made up of all five KCKPS high schools plus Atchison High School. The newest member will be Highland Park, who will join the KCAL during the 2022-23 school year.
